SGMK’s 'Factory of Production Processes,' Created to Develop the Company's Business System, Receives Federal Competence Center Certification
SGMK has launched a Factory of Production and Office Processes in accordance with Federal Competence Center (FCC) standards. The company aims to train employees from its departments and enterprises to apply lean manufacturing tools in order to enhance the company's overall production efficiency. Future plans include extending this training to external organizations and college students.
“A single day at the FCC's Process Factory empowers participants to find new ways to solve problems and take on different roles. This sparks numerous ideas for optimizing team performance and overall enterprise operations. I am sure that lean manufacturing training will significantly boost efficiency across the company, from improving internal communication to rethinking our processes,” Alexander Suturin, Head of Production System Development at SGMK, shared.
The FCC's Process Factory is a training environment where participants can rapidly develop practical skills in working with lean manufacturing tools. It simulates real production processes in a clear, playful manner. “This approach allows employees to transfer the acquired knowledge into skills applicable to their daily tasks, using practical cases as examples,” Marina Pasechnik, Process Factory trainer and Production System Development Manager at SGMK, said.
The training goes beyond simply introducing lean manufacturing tools; it demonstrates their impact on operational and financial performance. The trainers prioritize "learning by doing," encouraging participants to solve unconventional tasks by drawing upon both their own experience and that of their peers.
Employees from the West Siberian Electrometallurgical Plant took part in the Factory of Production Processes certification. The enterprise is a participant in the national project "Labor Productivity," overseen by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Andrei Belousov.
Maximizing employee involvement in the process of continuous improvement is the task that SGMK’s departments and enterprises are facing today, as they believe this will instill a deeper appreciation for the most important things – our time and resources.
“We were taught to find and minimize the loss of working time, properly organize the workspace, effectively solve problems, and enhance interdepartmental collaboration. These practical skills will come in handy at work,” Yulia Romanenko, IT Recruitment Manager at SGMK, shared about her participation in the Process Factory.
“The Process Factory's unique methodology is what sets it apart. It is based on the FCC's vast experience in effective improvements across numerous organizations as part of the 'Labor Productivity' national project. With over 100 specialized production, office, and logistics process factories established nationwide, we help companies enhance lean manufacturing skills for their employees throughout the country,” Albert Bikbulatov, FCC Senior Trainer, said.
