Two hundred employees from SGMK and its affiliates were awarded regional, city, and corporate honors in celebration of the industry's annual Metallurgist's Day.
Celebrations for this day commenced at the Zapsib Cultural Center in Novokuznetsk, recognizing the contributions of those working in the metals industry.
"Dear fellow countrymen, I sincerely congratulate you on Metallurgist's Day!" Ilya Vladimirovich Seredyuk, Acting Governor of Kuzbass, said addressing the attendees at the gubernatorial reception. "This is one of the major professional holidays of our region, as metallurgy remains the basic branch of the economy. The Kuzbass metallurgical complex is a national leader, with 37,000 specialists in the region responsible for producing ten percent of Russia's total steel, cast iron, and rolled ferrous metals. Thank you for your work, which helps the economy of Kuzbass and Russia to develop. I wish you further professional success, the realization of all your plans, good health, and prosperity. Happiness to you and your families!"
The Acting Governor of Kuzbass presented high awards to employees from SGMK and its partner enterprises. Four people were awarded the "For Service to Kuzbass" medal: Vasily Vasilyevich Barsukov, a 6th-rank ferroalloy smelter at ZSEMZ LLC; Nadezhda Vasilyevna Simonova, a receiving and pyrotechnic control master, and Alexander Alekseevich Yakovlev, Deputy General Director for Personnel (both from Vtorresurs-Pererabotka LLC); and Pavel Igorevich Vlasov, Executive Director of the "Secondary Resources" branch of Zapsibruda LLC. Another 21 people were awarded certificates of honor from the Governor of Kuzbass.
The celebration continued at the Kuznetsky Shooting Park, where top-performing employees were further recognized during a corporate Metallurgist's Day event. To the thunderous applause of the attendees, 175 certificates of honor were presented by the city and SGMK leaders.
On this day, many warm words of gratitude were expressed for the hard work and contribution to the common cause.
