SGMK Unveils Multimedia Lecture Hall at SibSIU

The opening ceremony was attended by Kuzbass Governor Sergey Tsivilev.

“The Siberian Mining and Metallurgical Company and the Siberian State Industrial University are linked by strong partnerships. Two hundred and forty-five managers across all levels of SGMK are graduates of SMI-SibSIU. The university serves as a talent pool for the company. Our collaboration extends to various areas, including environmental initiatives and SibSIU’s ESG agenda, which fosters sustainable development,” Denis Kraev, SGMK General Director, stated.

The newly renovated and equipped seventh lecture hall was funded by SGMK. It boasts a distinctive industrial aesthetic, incorporating unique design features. Repurposed materials, symbolizing the company’s commitment to waste utilization, serve as visual representations of SGMK’s business activities—for example, the transformation of a Moskvich car cabin into recycled aluminum—and showcase the diverse range of products manufactured by the company, including aluminum ingots, ferroalloys, crumb rubber, and reclaimed rubber.

The auditorium’s design allows for easy reconfiguration to accommodate a variety of functions. Multimedia equipment supports live streaming and video conferencing.

“Our efforts are aimed at establishing Kuzbass as a premier destination for students, providing them with an environment for academic excellence. The active involvement of our enterprises, which are interested in highly qualified personnel, is crucial to this endeavor. This advanced facility will empower our youth to discover and fulfill their potential right here, in their own region,” Sergey Tsivilev, Kuzbass Governor, remarked at the opening of the lecture hall.
